German taste maker Steve Bug has been in the limelight since the nineties, and the dedicated electronic music ambassador has not taken his foot off the pedal since. His first release came back in 1993, his first label ‘Raw Elements’ was started a few years later, but it was his second label ‘Poker Flat’, launched in 1999 that has made Steve into the artist he is today. The label pioneered modern minimal and deep house, and still runs as strong today as ever, with artists such as Jamie Jones, Trentemoller and Burnski cutting their teeth on the imprint. As musical partners to the Poker Flat sound Steve set up ‘Dessous’ and ‘Audiomatique’, two other outlets for him to present his love for 4/4 music. Whilst setting trends within the house and techno scenes Steve has stlll managed to tour the world extensively, and produce countless productions, remixes and studio sessions with some of the worlds key producers, all displaying Steve’s trademark sound and natural flare for electronic music.
Superstar John Tejada has embraced electronic music as a personal frontier- as a recording artist, producer, remixer and label owner. Most associated with Detroit techno, but referencing music from a broader musical range John’s work is always received to critical acclaim. His style is subtle, refined and musical, spanning tempo and genre lines, from chilled out affairs with spacious arrangement to pulsating densely layered techno. His own label Palette, set up in L.A in ’96 has received recognition since it’s inception, and has served as an exclusive outlet for his own prodigious output.
Born and bred Stockholmer Axel Boman was seduced by house beats in 1992 and has not been able to look back. Building his reputation on Stockholm’s small but friendly scene, it was not long before he gained a nice reputation as one of the city’s better DJs, and an exploration into production soon followed. Axel took to the studio like a fish to water, quickly honing his raw, playful and soulful sound, which caught Djs such as Seth Troxler, and Magda’s attention instantly. 2010 was his breakthrough year, when the massive ‘Purple Drank’ with its catchy vocals landed on DJ Koze’s label Pampa. 2011 looks set to be another blinder for the charismatic Swede, with tunes set to drop on Permanent Vacation, Hypercolour and Moodmusic.
